Testimonials
"I cannot thank you enough for your 4 years of tutoring, education, mentoring, nurturing………….your influence has been such a blessing. You help to keep these kids, who have so much nonsense thrown at them, sane." - KS, 2011
'We are so blessed to have you in our lives....I cannot say that too
much!" -SS, 2009
"Our son seems to be making good, solid progress. We are pleased
to have seen a big change in his attitude towards school and learning
through this school year. Working with you is certainly helping with that,
and we look forward to watching him continue to grow as an individual and as a
student." -DG, 2010
"All our hard
work on my college essay definitely paid off because I got accepted into UC
Santa Cruz!!! My #1
college choice :D Thank you for all the hard work and effort you invested in me. There
couldn't have been a better reward. THANK YOU AGAIN!" -TN, 2008
"You are an
incredible teacher!!!" -JB, 2009
"Michael will continue BrainBuilders next year
(of course....you have become a friend, mentor, second mom to him)." -LW, 2010
"Lastly, I would like to thank you for
all of the focused attention that you pay to our son. Not only is he
learning a great deal, but for him to converse with an adult who is not family
and not a teacher has also helped him to mature and have more confidence in his
communication skills. His spoken vocabulary has definitely grown and he
listens, then chooses his words very carefully in order to express himself as
precisely as possible. You are definitely making an impact on his life.' -NH, 2010
"Wow, thank you Sue. When are you going to start
a BrainBuilders for adults? :) Great thought exercises!" -LD, 2010
"If you start a school, train me
and I’ll work for you. This has to be some of the best “fundamentals”
education a young person can get. It’s just so sad that our youth are educated
on facts, but not what will benefit their foundation of knowledge. You’re
making a difference in Michael. Way to go." -JB, 2009
My experience as a BrainBuilders athlete formed the cornerstone of my high school education. Sue’s passion for learning helped me to see the immense value in my education. She helped me to hone my critical thinking and writing skills and in the process, schoolwork began to excite me. Our time spent together over the course of four years became the most cherished hour of my week.
